Takapuna Grammar School

A new coat of paint

Takapuna Grammar School is one of the oldest secondary schools on Auckland’s North Shore. It was established in 1926. Over 1600 students attend the school each year and amongst the graduates are famous names such as Sir Peter Blake, Danny Morrison and Lorde.

With so much history and responsibility for a large number of students, the look of the building needed to reflect the prestige of the institution. To refresh the look, Takapuna Grammar School was arranging for a new paint job and they hired Contractors to get it done.

Peel Away used on heritage structures

Ensuring health and safety

With several existing layers of paint dating through almost the entire past century, the contractors decided to use Peel Away 8. Peel Away ensures a complete removal of the old layers and encapsulates any previous paint. Working on the school grounds, it was very important to have a precise, easy to apply paint remover that works quietly.

Peel Away 8 exceeded all expectations and stripped all paint layers back to the bare concrete.

Performance for small or large, new or heritage jobs

Application of Peel Away is simple and efficient. If you are looking at repainting a whole house or simply wanting to rejuvenate your front door. Add a coat of Peel Away, cover it with our Peel Away Paper and after 24-72 hours you simply peel off the layers of old paint. The product is organic and works on many surfaces, which makes it ideal for any scenario. The contractor for this job has recognised the effectiveness of Peel Away and was more than happy with the results for their contract for the school.
